RT Group, Inc. (RTG) was retained by the Sakonnet Point Club to provide Professional Engineering Services for a new discharge pipeline and diffuser for their Reverse Osmosis System associated with their potable water well system.
Following Tropical Storm Irene in August 2011, the existing discharge pipeline (which made its outfall on the exposed ocean side of a man-made jetty) was damaged beyond repair. RTG recommended that the new pipeline be relocated to the sheltered harbor side of the jetty.
RTG designed the new pipeline, which consisted of HDPE pipe ballasted with pre-cast concrete blocks. RTG assisted Northeast Water Solutions, Inc. (NWSI) in obtaining the required permits from the USACOE, RICRMC, RIDEM, and RIDOH. RTG also prepared the Plans and Specifications for Bidding and Construction and provided Construction Observation Services.
