RT Group, Inc. (RTG) was retained by Cardi Corporation (Cardi) to provide professional engineering services for the replacement of three (3) Amtrak Bridges located in East Lyme and Stonington, Connecticut. RTG designed and provided submittals for several structures including, but not limited to a temporary pile supported trestle bridge to support passenger trains; sheet pile cofferdams for the installation of the proposed bridge abutments; temporary pile supported work platforms for the removal of the old superstructure and placement of the proposed superstructure; and temporary sheet pile crane platforms. RTG also performed pre-construction surveys for surrounding structures; dewatering plans for the abutment cofferdams; jacking and shoring plans for the removal of existing structures; micro-pile design for both permanent and temporary structures; wave equation analysis (WEAP) for the proposed piles; and pile driving analysis (PDA) of driven piles.
