Shoreline Protection Project 2

RT Group, Inc. (RTG) was retained by Styron, LLC (STYRON) to design repairs to an existing earthen embankment located immediately adjacent to a rail line which supplies the facility with raw product.

Erosion of the existing embankment had become of growing concern to STYRON as it approached the rail line. As part of the project, RTG performed a detailed site survey of the affected area, performed the design of a new rip-rap revetment, coordinated a wetlands flagging survey, prepared the CTDEEP and USACE permit applications, and prepared plans and specifications for permitting and construction.

The project is currently ongoing and the preparation of plans and specifications for bidding and construction are anticipated to be completed along with construction administration services following receipt of the required permits.
